The Week Edit #6

THIS WEEK IN PHOTOS:

The Valentine's Great Gatsby themed locomotion dinner, here with my 'Valentine' (Natalie) and my college son (Alex)//Pyjama Party 'A Different Nail Enamel' by Clinique, you knew I had to get Clinique in here somewhere// The locomotion dinner after party at the Cross Keys in Yarm was a very eventful night, read my post on Valentine's Eve below// teaching a sprinter to run a 5k is never easy, but I'm getting far better, today I did a PB (for a treadmill) of just over 26 minutes, a very proud moment// I cannot get enough of the Olympics, I was in the library watching it on my iPad//

THIS WEEK'S POSTS:

RITA ORA FOR RIMMEL LONDON//ME #1//ME #2//BEYONCÉ'S RISE//FITNESS THURSDAY #5 YOGA//HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY//VALENTINE'S EVE//

THIS WEEK I'M LOVING:

It has been quite a busy week, with Valentine's day and formal dinners, assignments and far too little running for my liking, but I have been enjoying having a week (4 days) off running. Today I attempted a 5k and was really pleased with a new PB on a treadmill of under 27 minutes (so hopefully much less on road!). But mainly my favourite part about this week was seeing the second years out on Friday night, all together, just like in our fresher's week, we don't get chance to go out as much (or maybe that is just granny Ruth over here) so its always really nice to see everyone, especially when the club you end up in is playing some immense tunes. Also just as an add on Clean Bandit have released "heart on fire" on Soundcloud here so check that out I'm loving it. Ok just one more thing I'm loving, can't believe I forgot this but how amazing has the Olympics been? I cannot get enough of it, I was on the treadmill earlier watching the x-country 10km mens relay, it took nearly an hour and 45 minutes and was amazing, It honestly made me run faster seeing how hard they were working made me increase my km/h!

NEXT WEEK:

More Olympics, I really can'y get enough, tonight sees the 2-man bobsled, featuring GBR and JAM (yes that is Jamaica! how exciting, cue Cool Runnings on repeat and a lot of kissing lucky eggs!) GBR also have a great team, they won gold in 1964, can they do it again? There is also the figure skating with a GBR team who won bronze at the world Champs at the end of last year, so hopefully they can do really well again. I have two days off this week from Uni (thank you very much!) however that is going to involve a lot of work and then a night out in Newcastle on Thursday should finish the week in style (Love a bit of the Newc)

Have an incredible week,

Halfway

I think I am more the glass half empty kind of person when it comes to this kind of half. Half of my (our) university career is over, I can't believe it has been that long since I arrived as a nervous 18 year old and now I'm 20 with only 15 months left. Where has the time gone?

Anyway, enough pondering, questioning and wondering. Last night saw the Halfway dinner for second years. It was a formal event with a toast to the college, a speech by the Dean and lamb was even on the menu!

Lamb, eurgh, whoever invented that meat, let alone that animal needs shooting (they're probably already dead), I hate that meat, it is one of the only things I won't eat (that and pineapple - serious allergies). And it was on the menu, which was fine, it just meant I had the vegemetarian option instead, which was vegetables in a fill pastry, with vegetables on the side.. veg and more veg! I could never be a vegetarian.

Anyway, everyone looked very smart, the boys in suits, the girls in classy dresses. I was potentially in THE brightest dress EVER - at least it was red (the colour of the college) and my nails matched.

The meal went so quickly though, it was all over far too fast and when it was ever so slightly knocked off balance with an attempted (but very funny) neck nomination (worth a try I guess), everyone diffused to have a natter. It was nice to see people in that environment rather than running past each other at 4pm on your way to a lecture.

This is where I have to reach for my phone as I was taking notes at the end of the night on the bus back from Durham - on my own as Natalie left me! boohoo (to go home, she had work, not anything else!)

A lot of people said to me "don't put that on the blog!" like I was going to transcribe their conversations on here - I don't do that don't worry! You can speak to me in confidence that I won't spill your gossip on here! (unless you really want me to!)

When myself and Natalie got on the bus to Durham - that is ran, I almost and I mean I think I nearly did, break my ankle - stilettos and running = unhappy ankles. The bus driver waited for us, bless him to which Natalie said "thank you mr taxi driver!" - ah man, one bottle of wine and we forget our own names. And our age apparently as I was convinced I'm half way to 36, but in actual fact, this may shock you, I'm halfway to 40 - when did THAT happen?! - I've lost two years from somewhere!

I said "surprise me" to the woman behind the bar in Whisky River (cocktail bar in Durham - so incredible) and I got a "forbidden fruit" cocktail which was so tasty, and I think it was soda water based = cha ching no calories!

After squeezing our vegetarian filled bodies through Fabios to get a glass of water (really) we attempted to get a Subway - which wasn't happening because it was packed however I did manage to have a minor argument with an obnoxious Durham student about his friend who had pushed to the front of the queue, blindly missing eight people in the queue behind him. I had words, I wasn't impressed, but it was fine because he had a subway... common theme here...

I got the bus back and was sat merrily typing away the evening, I got home, took my make up off with A MAKE UP WIPE - I know, God of make up removal, I am so so so sorry. BUT thankfully there was hot water (there is never hot water here!) so I was able to Clinique myself up and remove my make up properly (I am not going to make up removal hell).

I may have had some curly fries when I got in - which I managed to burn?! - ahh this is why they turned the cookers off in halls at night - they were still edible though, only a few had slightly charred edges.

All in all it was a good night, really really nice to see everyone and have a catch up. And I am really happy that people from Uni read this blog! - seeing as it is mainly about Uni, but I write it for you not for me so thanks guys! :D

Here's to the next year and a half!

The Library

I thought I'd take 10 minutes procrastination time to write a blog post. I am currently sat in the library, researching antecedents of public service motivation and I am having a break of eating walnuts and drinking freezing cold water.

I have been here, hmm about an hour now and I have already seen some very interesting sites.

If you are in the library and not currently sitting a computer, you most definitely have an Apple product, be it an iPad, MacBook or covered in a green skin, you have one. I have to hold my hands up to that one.

If you are in the quiet study area (as I am), it is acceptable to talk about who you are going to "cock block" tonight at the marrow strip, not mentioning any names... The marrow strip is a charity night in which people get naked and people pay to go and watch, high entertaining I can only imagine...

It is then also appropriate to chat about what you're having for tea, what you did last night, what you're plans are for your neck nomination challenge, it involves a toilet brush apparently.

It is also vitally important that you don't make eye contact with anyone when you walk in and out of the library. Ensure you maintain a straight forward "I'm in working mode" look about you to avoid any awkward "hey!"s that come out a bit squeaky as you're not sure if you're allowed to talk or not. If you do catch somebody's eye, a simple smile will send them on their way.

As I am sat at the back of the library I can see everyone's laptop screens, not that I'm looking but so far someone has an assignment on kidney function and disease, someone has a journal open on motivation in the police force and there seems to be a few assignments based on Facebook (and blogger...)

Oh no, someone just did a squeaky hello. They are now talking about their assignment and that a girl looks nice in her new green jumper, from Topshop, in the sale. Bargain.

Ahh Library chronicles. I really should get back to Perry 1997

The Week Edit #4

THIS WEEK IN PHOTOS:

My post-run protein and potassium kick, my favourite snack ever// The Six Nations didn't get off to England's best advantage, however there are still plenty of games left, next week England are away to Scotland// I add peanut butter to everything, I am a big lover of its protein-ness and here I zuzzed it in a post-run smoothie of banana and raspberries// First run of February - start as I mean to go on at 9am - hello quads!// My Clinique arrived! yayy, I was nearly deprived of my night cream but Boots.com came to my rescue// Pizza night friday with Rachel, we went a bit mad but it was oh so tasty (hence the 9am run the next morning to burn it off - well, at least 1/4 of it)//

THIS WEEK'S POSTS:

SWEET DREAMS// UNIVERSITY SECRETS II// 6 WAYS TO STOP PROCRASTINATING//LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER//LUSH 'SOFT COEUR'//FITNESS THURSDAY #4//CARA DELEVIGNE "IV DRIPPIN"//PRIMARY SCHOOL//10 REASONS TO WATCH THE SUPERBOWL//

THIS WEEK I'M LOVING: I received my order from Boots on Thursday and I am in love with the EVEN BETTER EYES DARK CIRCLE CORRECTOR which has a really pretty sparkly tint to it and makes my under eyes really smooth - contrary to my flat mates'  dismay at the price... It was a slight indulgence for an eye cream but well worth it. I also bought a Boots ESSENTIALS CUCUMBER EYE GEL which I keep in the fridge and apply whilst I wait for my porridge to cook to reduce puffs!

BLOG POST OF THE WEEK: My favourite blog post this week was from LILY PEBBLES and it was her "JANUARY HITS AND MISSES" which are a big thing in the blogger-beauty industry, I already have my eyes on several of her hits.

NEXT WEEK: A busy week of welfaring, half way-dining (dinner-ing?) - can't believe I'm half way through Uni already, although by the looks of these assignments I'll be lucky to finish alive, or with a pass, running (I'm planning on 5 this week!), eating and probably a bit of blogging! Talking of blogging, my poll came out as you prefer me to write about "lifestyle/ everyday madness" - you voted, I'll deliver!

Have a great week,

The most wonderful time of the year

Nigella's taking cocaine, Ryan Giggs has turned 40 (insert love or hatred for him here), Christmas trees are going up, lights are being turned on, Christmas songs are being played in stores, Movember is nearly, NEARLY over (cannot come quick enough!), my Christmas jumper has made its first appearance and yes, I have downloaded my Christmas album onto my iPod - however, I haven't yet listened to them (much). In my house the Christmas decorations go up around the 16th December, after my birthday, of course and we usually just have a modest tree and a nativity scene, however at Uni, as we are only here for two weeks of December, decorations have been up for nearly a week. Essays are due in, there are nights out to be had, naked calendar launches to be squinted at, birthdays to celebrate, secret Santa's, one too many glasses of mulled wine and an unhealthy amount of mince pies to be consumed. As well as about four traditional Christmas meals to be had before actual Christmas day. My mother rang me the other day to say she had ordered our turkey from a colleague who's husband owns a farm, she has called it Ethel and Ethel shall be £40. Forty pounds?! We'll have three...

It is essentially time to start buying presents. I have already bought my flat mates' presents, they are hiding under my desk, away from prying eyes, awaiting to be wrapped. Talking of wrapping paper, B&M has the best deal: 12 metres for £1 - incredible, however, if you want a variety of wrapping paper, Card Factory are doing 3x3metre rolls for £1 - take your pick! B&M also do a box of four wrapping paper rolls with lots of bows and ribbons for £4.99 - I've done my research. I'm so sad. Its procrastination at its best. Boots also has Maximuscle Progain on offer HALF PRICE (£25) - so tempting.

Two weeks now till it is the end of term (and my birthday woop) and although I went home last weekend there is always something nice about home (and the fresh air, free from ill Stockton-ers, someone in the shopping centre today just sneezed and didn't cover his mouth as I walked past. What is this country). There is always Ben and Jerry's in my favourite flavour - Blondie Brownie and food is on tap with a quick text to Dad asking him to pick up goats cheese, pâte and a small amount of caviar (only joking! we don't eat pâte that much). I have the house to myself in the day and it is so quiet. No one having far too much fun in the room above mine, no locals getting arrested outside, a clean kitchen and bathroom and not having to worry about how much electricity is being used. Bliss.

I almost can't believe how fast this year has gone (yawnnn), yesterday I was at work for NYE, then I was in an exam hall, then I was in Marbella and now I am writing Christmas cards and finding the best wrapping paper deals - I'm actually an old lady, after all, my name is Ruth (expectation: Ruth sits quietly by the fire and knits, reality: Ruth sits by the fire (at home, obvs) and reads E.M.Forster... completely different people).

The gym will also be packed after Christmas and the "post-Christmas lunch" workouts will go up with challenges including "run for four hours just to burn off one mince pie" - basically meaning I feel claustrophobic in the gym. Just don't eat too much! Last year was hilarious when I got a training schedule from Athletics for over the Christmas holidays which said "a steady 30 minute run on Christmas day is essential" - Sorry, what? Do we think Jesus would approve of missing his birthday for a training session, definitely not, I'll miss the jelly and ice cream. ha.

I'm not saying M**** C********* before the 1st December, therefore,
Much Love!

The Durham Colleges Bar Crawl

Outside Trevs - our first bar
If you weren't aware that Durham University had colleges, think again. We're just like Oxford and Cambridge, only 10 degrees colder and less up ourselves (well, most people).

There are 16 college in Durham University, I won't name them all, but I am in George Stephenson college to give it its correct full title or "Stevo" to the local inmates.

So it was time for a Rep social - the right picture shows the cool kids that actually turned up. Admitted there was every sports' social under the sun taking place on Saturday evening, for example the Football initiation had to dress up as a female singer and sing one of their songs - there was a Miley Cyrus, with a grey fitness ball, I thought that was a good effort. Regardless of whatever socials were on, the rep team consists of nearly 50 people, there were 6 of us. Not the best turn out, but at least its over 10%!

The full social actually started at 1pm in Stevo bar, the idea being to go round all other 13 bars (minus John Snow because, well, its John Snow and their igloo is tiny and seriously lacking in polar bears and Grey's was closed due to the fireworks...) by 11:30pm when they all closed - this involved a one hour bus journey and stopping to eat... anyway...

With our cocktails in Trev's
It was 18:30 and we (myself and Natalie Brown - thats Brown like the colour) went to catch the X1- now the X1 to non Durham-ers is a bus, not a very good bus as it is never on time, always full, always too hot and the driver is like some boy (or girl - equality) racer. So we got on after several locals with 15 children and endured screaming and shouting for 26 miles to Durham.

We were hoping to see Grey College's fireworks, as they are supposed to be really really sparkly. Now, as we live in Stockton, who blow half of their yearly budget on their firework display to draw in the charvs from the local area to spend their moulah we had very, very, high expectations.

We thought we'd missed them (thats the fireworks at Grey by the way). We got off the X1 at 19:25 and began hearing bangs and fizzes. Thankfully, we managed to have a great view of the fireworks which always get me emotional, Guy Fawkes was such a brave guy. There was clearly no safety precautions as we were rained on several times by glittering after-spray (is that the right word... ashes or light bits) - "Make it make it rain make it make it make it rain"- sing this and pretend you're throwing money everywhere, you got it. We made a wish whilst we were being rained on, so cute.

Anyway, boring emotional part over it was time to go to our first bar to meet "everyone" - this was Trevelyan college "Trevs" where we got lost in all the anarchy of the masses leaving Greys and had to look at the map to find out where Trevs was thinking it was miles away. We got there eventually, after looking like right Stevo tourists (even more so asking posh Durham-ers to take photos of us outside every college sign) to see four others of the rep team (rep team most represented = welfare. Of course, I'm not saying were the best but the President was one of us, so that kind of does make us the best).

We were greeted with "do not get the Trevs college drink - it tastes like e-numbers" - now to a girl who gets high on smarties this was great news, but it actually tasted like those Panda pops you got at your year 5 disco, or like R.Whites lemonade which had seriously gone out of date. Not nice, so we got a cocktail, we were going to get two Long Island Ice Tea's but then I was sure they didn't have coke in them (no caffeine allowed and all that) so I had a sex on the beach - in a pint glass, lad.

Mary's had a Toastie bar! - mind = blown.
We had to down those to keep up with the others - who had already been to about 5 other bars earlier that day, so were a lot of tipsy then ourselves. Next, after an awkward pose outside the entrance it was time for Mary's - the cutest college, ever. Like a Kiera Knightly film I was in love with the grounds. This college used to be an all girls' college. Which I think is lovely, its now President-ed by a boy - how lovely. We don't judge single sex schools.

Mary's was slightly on the small side, nevertheless they had a good house shot called "the witch" which we were told was lovely, they meant to tell us it was horrible (Thanks Chelcie and Tom), but it was actually delightful - Archers mixed with Bacardi - mm. There we met El Presidente of the whole university, our very own Daniel Slavin (now pronounced Daniel SlaRvin - because he's not ultra posh), he used to be Stevo's president and now runs the whole uni and is loving it I hear!

So he joined us in our continued mission of the college bars - next it was Castle - in a Castle, yes, yawn, you have to hand in your campus card when you get in - after you have broken your back getting through that ridiculously low door, inside is like some wine cellar, with the proper aches are brick walls. Next it was Hatfield - whose college drink I have to say was incredible - I'm keeping the recipe for my own pleasure and refuse to share it with anyone - sorry! - go to Hatfield! We were entertained there with a few pub golfers after realising time was ticking we needed to get round the rest of the bars.
Me and Thee outside the Cath.

Next was Chad's - like some weird greenhouse upstairs and then a home from home Durham tube-mapped-esque wall of all the "important" places in Durham - quite cool. There we only had time for a shot - Sambuca obviously - go hard or go home (we did shortly go home, we were slightly tipsy. And you know when Natalie is tipsy as she runs and with those knees she doesn't run when sober, so there we go) We legged it to John's college, to find that is was closed, sad face, then the last one was St. Cuth's, which, when we got there was more like an old mans social club, but hey, the drinks were £1.50, so who's complaining?

That concluded our college bar crawl, admittedly myself and Natalie didn't go to all of them, but the state of us after just six was plenty for one night. We then proceeded to head back into the centre of the city in search of some alcohol-soaking food. We all had noodles as Wok-Sup, mm, lavely - although the next day had that food smell on it. Oh my I cannot stand food smells, I have a change of clothes that I cook in to avoid smelling of food. Vile.

It was then time for we six reps to go home, at about 1am - we were probably going to leave at 10pm, thats how good a night it was -reps you so missed out! The X1 took 20 minutes to get to the bus station, where I proceeded to shout at a fresher that I saw him in the gym earlier, he just looked at me blank as if I was some kind of freak - just because I was in the weights section! - boys are so mean. We also saw second year football boys in superhero outfits and Danielle Britton in a onesie running after the bus. Note to everyone - sitting on the road so the bus can't drive is NEVER a good option, ever.

I have eaten half a Terry's chocolate orange whilst writing this and it's nearly time for MIC, so thanks for reading because that was a long one! If you didn't get this far, thanks for the view!

Go to Durham Uni

The late night post

This is the icon.
Its 23:30 and after two hours of the famous Kit Kat Chit Chat, a 25 minute run (which, just as a sidetrack I am not happy about because I went for a long, slow run and set RunKeeper on start and  I was hopping along singing merrily away to Lorde when I forget to press stop when I had finished - only to find out 2 hours later when it apparently takes me over two and a half hours to run nearly 3 miles - I said I was running slow but not turtle speed - this is another thing, can you say "turtle speed" because aside from a dodgy-sounding drug, turtles don't real "speed" anywhere do they? - we'll stick with pace. So basically the reason for that rant was to remind people to stop their RunKeeper or forever be seen as a turtle-paced runner. end.) and a lecture on what IS (information systems) actually is, its much clearer now, just, and a lecture about sampling with Santa Claus I am about to catch up on the daily news - on Vine. I've had Vine now for sometime (like 5 months?) and have posted potentially 2 videos? And have found Instagram to be much better for videos. But I have recently stumbled across some very comical videos. Now I have got to this point in the post and have only just realised that Vine don't have a website - of course they don't! so er, I can't link you to my profile or funny videos because the Vine-ers are still clearly working on their website issues. But if you don't have Vine and you are in the 21st century with an iPhone or an Android then get the app and watch some hilarious videos from these people (I can't describe the videos, you have to watch them to understand): Brandon Calvillo, MAX JR, Klarity, DeStorm, Jerry Purpdrank and then add me "Ruth Smith" - very imaginative - then you won't have to add everyone else because I always revine - thats like retweeting - or just follow me on Twitter where I usually share the Vines to.

Oh and after typing into our good brother "Google" I manage to find MAX JR's profile - MAX JR Vine Profile

He's funny.

Boys Creepin'

Creepin' already
Myself and my MOH had out first night out together since being back, we don't spend much time together normally (hmmmmmm) so we decided to go to our unique Thursday spot in Middlesborough - Medicine bar, the night: Creeps. And this week the theme fitted the boys' pulling tactics down to a T.

There are always more boys than girls there and they are definatley more Natalie's type then my own, but nevertheless they are normally very nice to us, apart from this particular night when we were preyed on in the oddest ways.

Firstly I had someone grab my bum only for me to slap his hand and push him away for him to say "worth a try" - it really wasn't was my reply. This then happened once more so the boy decided then to try it on Natalie only for me to slap his hand away and protect the poor girl.

Secondly a boy asked me if I was from Teesside University "God NO!" was my reply to which I think I offended him slightly (I'd still rather be from Teesside than John Snow) he then walked away and came back and said to me "I'm going now, so, good luck! you'll need it", erm, thanks?

Thirdly, this happened to Natalie, she was politely asked if she wanted a drink (I turned away thinking I shouldn't get involved) to which she repplied "No thank you, I've had enough" - brilliant. I laughed, he was offended, Natalie just stood there with her innocent smile that said "but thanks anyway!" and we continued to dance to Annie Lennox.

Finally there was a group of three boys dancing round us, with us, almost in our private space, awkward when there was two of us so one of them put three fingers to his friends, they all nodded, he then put two fingers up and walked away... so there was just two of them left, neither of blessed with the best looks, but at least they acknowledged the fact there was two of us and three of them, which never works out well does it. #thirdwheel

It was an 80's night but an Indie 80's night so it was very tied into the venue and the occasional India song was played by bands with names like Stroke My Cat and Emily Loves Kettles and the Cotton Vegans. You get the picture I was swaying like I knew what I was listening to whilst Natalie and the other hundred people were banging the ceiling in delight at the random mysterious music.

So needless to say,  there wasn't a lot of eye confectionary however its always a good night after several cocktails, raspberry sambuca shots, rosé and gin.

Get your creep on!

Stevo Rangers

I've been told to keep this short and sweet, I've also been told my blog someone's "guilty pleasure" and they have me on tab (not tap!) - A fast rugby player... but I'm not allowed to say who, I've had four requests to feature in a post and I've heard people are jealous that a picture of others has appeared in a post! - I'm more than flattered. Thanks guys and dolls!

Stevo Rangers - we're a bunch of bear hunters who go and hunt bears to eat them and wear their fur. We also belong to Durham University Stephenson College and last night was the Freshers' week launch. I am a welfare rep (if you didn't know that previously), there are other welfare reps, Fresher reps, ticket reps and the exec and non-exec and it was out job last night to introduce the Freshers into Stephenson college in true Stevo Ranger style - after they caught their first bear they had to complete several challenges set by their block captains - my ideas were very tame and innocent such as "find someone with the same birth place as you" and to tell an exec member that you're interested in mountain climbing and "where is the nearest mountain?" whereas as the night went on I saw Freshers' with several numbers written on their arms, phone numbers? hats were stolen and I mean stolen - naughty, reps were thrown in the air, catwalk walks were done and 'shoe phone' was seen (where did that come from?), Freshers got drunk and Freshers completed their first chant - trying to get 400 Freshers to listen was damn hard mann but oh so worth it. Other challenges included putting a condom on your head (for safe sex obvs) in the fastest time and having a Stemo (VK Cherry, Apple sours shot and Cointreau), the college drink or a Lollipop (yum!, its a non alcoholic drinks to all the t-totallers). It was very interesting (in an abstract psychological, non weird (ok weird) way) to see how the newbies came out of their shells - 6 hours before I had met their parents and their innocent angel faces but oh how things change when the 'rents leave - I'm never having children.

Bar crawl tonight! - Letting the rabbits, rangers and ravers into a club, after several rounds of drinking games and a formal dinner things could get not messy, but chaotic! - WOOHOO, can't wait.

//P.S. to all the people I have promised a mention to I will get round to it! I'm just concocting the best post ya see

Stay safe Fresher! (and reps!)

What happened last night?

2:30am - Scream.

This post is called "What happened last night" because that was the content of the first text received from my friend first thing this morning...

Ah, THE wednesday night. Scream. Derby

'Scream Dream' - Unfortunately, its not all a dream.

"Who do you think we'll see tonight"
"I don't think many people are out"

- As we sipped (downed, almost) our cocktails in Vines (JellyBaby - Vodka, raspberry fizz (which is blue!) and orange juice).

Well weren't we wrong!

Cocktails! Vines.
Friary (Bar attached to Scream) was swarming with people we all knew, some we wanted to see, some we avoided all eye contact with and scurried past like mice towards mature cheddar - you know how it is. But then loads of "I haven't seen you in AGES"'s and "How are you?!"'s, then the "I'll see you in there!" - never to be seen again, apart from awkward "HEY's" and a quick jive as you pass each other on the way to the toilet - you know how it is.
It was a long night. I documented it - most of it. I don't really have super power memory! Here is what I documented (I won't tell you what I can remember and what I can't but my notes tell me I wasn't in a perfect state of mind as my English looks like slight Russian-cum-Tanzanian)

I attempted to get my six pack out to 'Mysterious Girl' - the DJ said "get your six pack out!" - I don't have a six pack and thanks to my top tucked into my shorts I struggled to untuck it. No flashing occurred - thank God. Thank you God.
My famous saying of "on a scale of one to ten" came back, several times, several times too many "On a scale of one to ten how much is a shot of Apple Sours?", "On a scale of one to ten, how many people are in here that you don't want to see?" - see, they don't even make sense. One did: "on a scale of one to ten, what are my chances..." - I'll stop there.
My friend lost her phone. iPhone 5 to be exact, so no big deal really. There was a fight, a meagre fight at that - still a "fight" (cat fight) and her phone got thrown out of her hand. But she was a little tipsy and couldn't quite understand what to do. Thankfully, (Thank you God) a very nice boy (In a "blazer and white shirt" - as he described) rang my phone (clearly looked on recent calls - clever boy) and came and kindly returned it - That my friends, was lucky (hope he wasn't expecting a drink).

3:15am - Yes, this is a man with this fists to a taxi.
Hmm, the sensitive topic of boyfriends, girlfriends, exs and "friends" - I won't go into that. Not really much to report... The DJ slowed the pace at about 2:15am with 'Angels' and yeah I didn't write this bit down so I'm not so sure... But it was that part of the night where "I love you!" is whispered to your friends and you all hug and dance... "A month and we'll be separated - till Christmas!" - It was emotional at the time - We've all been there.

Then, I did the unspeakable (after two shots), I had a pizza (ok, it was just two slices - "just"). I had pizza. Pizza. Pizza. It is a fantastic job that I am gracing the gym with my presence later - I used to never go into those places - "takeaways"? - now I'm eating out of them! - Its been great knowing you all. It was however, very pleasing to see other girls tucking into takeaways - who said it was summer anyway?!

Also I want to say thank you to all the people that said they have read and are enjoying my blog last night! - THANKS!

Luckily I didn't wake up with a baby or a tiger in my bathroom (did others?), or a hangover! - I know, I'm superwoman (I should be after the amount I drank, I mean very little that I drank!). It was a very good night nevertheless and I bumped into people I haven't seen for years, waved at people very awkwardly, said "swap places in one, two three" many times to avoid eye contact, danced like a mad baboon and had a dream that I was trying to get into St. Andrew's university to study Psychology - I knew the pizza was a bad idea.
