The Week Edit #4

THIS WEEK IN PHOTOS:

My post-run protein and potassium kick, my favourite snack ever// The Six Nations didn't get off to England's best advantage, however there are still plenty of games left, next week England are away to Scotland// I add peanut butter to everything, I am a big lover of its protein-ness and here I zuzzed it in a post-run smoothie of banana and raspberries// First run of February - start as I mean to go on at 9am - hello quads!// My Clinique arrived! yayy, I was nearly deprived of my night cream but Boots.com came to my rescue// Pizza night friday with Rachel, we went a bit mad but it was oh so tasty (hence the 9am run the next morning to burn it off - well, at least 1/4 of it)//

THIS WEEK'S POSTS:

SWEET DREAMS// UNIVERSITY SECRETS II// 6 WAYS TO STOP PROCRASTINATING//LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER//LUSH 'SOFT COEUR'//FITNESS THURSDAY #4//CARA DELEVIGNE "IV DRIPPIN"//PRIMARY SCHOOL//10 REASONS TO WATCH THE SUPERBOWL//

THIS WEEK I'M LOVING: I received my order from Boots on Thursday and I am in love with the EVEN BETTER EYES DARK CIRCLE CORRECTOR which has a really pretty sparkly tint to it and makes my under eyes really smooth - contrary to my flat mates'  dismay at the price... It was a slight indulgence for an eye cream but well worth it. I also bought a Boots ESSENTIALS CUCUMBER EYE GEL which I keep in the fridge and apply whilst I wait for my porridge to cook to reduce puffs!

BLOG POST OF THE WEEK: My favourite blog post this week was from LILY PEBBLES and it was her "JANUARY HITS AND MISSES" which are a big thing in the blogger-beauty industry, I already have my eyes on several of her hits.

NEXT WEEK: A busy week of welfaring, half way-dining (dinner-ing?) - can't believe I'm half way through Uni already, although by the looks of these assignments I'll be lucky to finish alive, or with a pass, running (I'm planning on 5 this week!), eating and probably a bit of blogging! Talking of blogging, my poll came out as you prefer me to write about "lifestyle/ everyday madness" - you voted, I'll deliver!

Have a great week,

Chanel No.5

It has been so long since I wrote a blog post that Blogger had logged me out. Thanks for that! But everyone starts their blog posts saying how long its been, but I have been far too busy to even call my mother (as she said was very sad on Sunday). Its been a mad few weeks of assignments and more assignments.

But I thought this was definitely worth sharing.

Anyone who knows me very well will know that I am in love with Coco Mademoiselle, this is also the reason why I am in love with Kiera Knightly as she looks incredible in the adverts with the camera man and her on her moped. I receive the perfume every Christmas from my Grandma. I have recently decided to venture out of Mademoiselle to see what Chance is like, however it doesn't live up. One of Chanel's oldest perfumes is No.5 - personally I am not a big fan, its a very mature scent, however the most recent advert for it is very powerful.

It shows Marilyn Monroe being asked what she wears to bed... and "pyjama top and bottoms" is not her answer...

Enjoy

Warm Fuzzy

Its Monday evening, I think half of the University are having their picture taken for the Marrow calendar - involves partial nudity (hence why I'm here, not there) and I'm currently organising Birthday plans - gonna be a good one! Just be in Derby City on my bday and you'll find us somewhere!

So I've had 5 hours of lectures and seminars today and there is no better way to chill out then to listen to a bit of the Queen of pop - Bey. The lyrics are beautiful and the remixes are perfect for the gym. But for now enjoy the original from 10 years ago this month (yes really, yes we are all very old, but Beyonce looks younger...) - head bouncing and booty shaking are acceptable (if you can do it slow!)

"All the ladies if you feel me help me sing it out..."

"Treats", Hawaii and Noah's Arc

Firstly its been 6 days since my last post. Sincere apologies.

Secondly, its because I've been having an INCREDIBLE time with the other reps making this years Stephenson College Freshers' week amazeballs - Don't mention balls, not after some poor fresher went along with the Rugby team on a sports bar crawl and had one strapped to his head - no fresher was hurt during the crawl. We hope.

So its been 6 days of madness, not enough hours in the day, too much vitamin C intake, run-ins with Police, dancing when sober (not easy), welfaring welfare, 3 Freshers' fairs, a few chunderers, chants against the other college (including words which wouldn't usually be uttered) and a Durham University mix-up of 'Dilemma' - throw in a trip to A&E and we have ourselves a freshers week! woop woop! COME TO DURHAM UNI (stevo, obvs)

To highlight a few events (working backwards, I've forgotten what day it is already) last night was the Silent Disco and parent night - we all have kids to look after for a year and can I just point out one of  our kids is going on Pointless, yes the pointless TV show on BBC where you guess what no one else guessed and its incredibly hard to win... the point? - there isn't one, hence the name pointless, because its pointless because no one ever wins? is that clear? So we have the next George Clooney in our brood. So far we have 5 kids for 6 parents (very modern) so if anyone wants to be adopted then let me know! Ah the silent disco - included putting your fingers in someone face and mouthing "TWO!" "ONE!" and raving away when they turn over and avoiding singing when someone approaches you with no headphones on.

Mr&Mrs Stevo - ahhh strong (unfortunately strong) memories from last year fill my memory, swapping clothes, inappropriate dancing, downing water - it all seems quite tame (until you add the things it wouldn't be PC to add. This year includes sucking lollies and downing drinks, spinning round and working out an anagram - all for a week of being known then everyone forgets that you ever were in Mr&Mrs Stevo - Oh until next year.... thanks, 'friends'.

Durham was an interesting night, the Hawaiian night, which jumbled into the pirates night and the cowboys and indians night - Durham is too small. It included some very, very, very very drunk freshers (fresher), a 4-bar bar crawl (with "treats" in one - thankfully just drinks, we were worried), reps dancing alone when the freshers were ushered to the next bar, a pleasant chat with a Policeman (not really but I'll be good), a pleasant chat with a nurse a Dr, a paramedic and a taxi driver telling us about his bankruptcy for 40 minutes and how everyone called him superman - I politely said "aw" at occasional intervals - it got a bit creepy when he started playing the superman theme tune, more creepy that he had it on his phone - last time I checked Superman wasn't 18 stone and didn't like to sit in an igloo.

The Arc - we clambered in with the other college in 2 by 2, the elephant fox and kangaroo, Noah was late but he is 3000 years old, his wife came too (just had to rhyme the last bit...) The Arc is the first night the Freshers meet the other college and actually get to try out their new chants and see a teeny bit of rivalry (utter lunacy to be exact), the Arc consisted of bad cheese jokes (which I thought were hilarious but anything makes me laugh), Natalie being soaked in Jack Daniels and Coke, Rahil singing a 5 minute mash-up of incredible songs whilst playing the piano, Lizzie doing her thing on her guitar, Ricky remixing Dilemma "Even thought I'm from John Snow, oh you know I'm crazy over Stevo" or something like that I've slept since then and then some performances from John Snow, hilariously inappropriate gas bill jokes and blind date with an Irish girl and Indian woman and cocktail sausages (no girl wants to hear a boy say his favourite cocktail is a cocktail sausage - just for a heads up HAHAHA).

So College Colours tonight - the excuse to lose your voice shouting the C word and calling the other college names you would't shout at your worst enemy - ooh it gets harsh - the excuse to hate anything that is blue - I'm currently looking at my dashboard on my laptop and not liking that Safari, Twitter, iTunes and Word (oh and Mail and half of Finder) are in blue - at least Calendar and Dictionary are with me) - the excuse to shark on the John Snow freshers (thats Stevo freshers on John Snow freshers). It will be a good one.

I now have to finish my typing because I can no longer concentrate as my room is wobbling, windows shaking, light flickering and ceiling creaking - I wish whoever is above me would take trampoline practise outside. thanks.

Stevo Love,

p.s. I sincerely hope "BLOGGGG" was shouted in a certain household when I posted this - I will be very disappointed if it wasn't! Love x

Music Review #1 - Lady Gaga and Iggy Azalea

Approximately 30 seconds after I posted about my holiday prep I decided it was time to complete and potentially review my summer playlist. I tend to go for two playlists - depending on my mood - one which is more Daughter and Jessie Ware and one which is more David Guetta and BeyoncĂ©.
So I merrily log onto iTunes and something catched my eye. The white background, the oddly painted face, the easy to recognise nose and eyes of Lady Gaga - you're not telling me she's back? Oh yes my children, she is back and which avngence by the sound of the single "Applause".
The album is "ARTPOP" and the release date isn't until 11th November, remembrance day, interesting Gaga. But the single is available to download now.
Its stil Gaga but there is something different about it - as the Adams family intro makes you think and with the opening line of "I stand here waiting for you to bang he gong" you know its different.
She then shows her true colours (if you will excuse the terrible pun) when the chorus beings with "I live for the applause" - being repeated over and over. Overall the YouTube likes say it all at over 129,000 likes and only 14,000 dislikes (still a lot of dislikes!) - but I am very much a like.
She's been having some good and bad press recently but shes headlining at iTunes festival on September 1st in London - normal. Now this (only just in from MTV) she's doing a DUET WITH CHER, you heard me right - any "Believe" fans will LOVE this and I have to say I am loving it - there aren't really any official audios so  have a search on YouTube to have a listen to some previews but its looking more Cher ft. Gaga rather than Gaga ft. Cher - YES CHER!

Anyway, after a bumpy ride for Gaga including a naked V magazine shoot, buying MJ's clothes, doing a "non-promo" here (basically telling people not to buy her single - very odd indeed, but a very good technique), and feuds with Katy Perry as her release date and "Applause" release date now clash (Applause was leaked so the release date is earlier than expected)... It doesn't take the shine away from the fact that GAGA IS BACK!

I give it 3.5/5 bravo Gargs.

Now onto Miss Azalea - the lyrics to "Work" are absolutely amazing.
My favourite line to be exact is "Valley girls giving blow jobs for Louboutins, whatcha call that? - head over heels?" - another bravo is in order.
I had seen the official video on MTV and liked it, kind of, but then when I saw her perform on BINTM on a table infront of Elle McPherson I was like "I need this in my life - and my workout" it is such a good motivator to workout to and the varying tempos and dynamics make it a great club tune, I am definitely requesting it next time I am out.
She has recently released "Bounce" but I am definitely not sure if I like that - its quite Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha - but a fail and I can see that hitting clubs too.
But by far "Work" is my favourite - the video is pretty amazing too - as she struts across a desert (sorry, walks a mile in her Louboutins) in Empire State heels.

4/5 go Iggy iggy iggy! oi oi.... ohhhhh dear.

Hope you enjoy them as much as me!
